Chilean underground cult Occasvs have taken black metal as the outline for their record, Nocturnal Majestic Mysteria, and filled it in with flourishes of death and heavy metal. Occasvs have been at work on Nocturnal Majestic Mysteria in some form since since the late 90’s.
The dedication to taking their time and waiting for the right musicians has paid off: listen to Occasvs’ “Triumphal Defeat” below. It’s raw and evil, but tight and polished just enough, ritualistic in its intent and execution.
“Written in the year 1999, ‘Triumphal Defeat’ was one of the first manifestations of the cult, before its own formation,” Occasvs tell Decibel. “It is a direct track, which maintains the essence of the metal of those years, with a strong symbolic and ritualistic charge, on rebellion, death and rebirth, within the conceptuality of Nocturnal Majestic Mysteria…”
